IOWA DOT ASL INDICATOR
This project was the result of a federal bill that required the advertisement of the deaf or hard of hearing indicator on a license or ID. Through brainstorming and working with various deaf and hard of hearing organizations in the community, we were able to come up with a way to create the video using 3 languages. We hired an interpreter to use ASL in the top right of the video, used captioning at the bottom for our readers in the deaf and hard of hearing community and added a visual story through the use of icons. Using a combination of all these languages on each screen, we were able to make the video as wide ranged as possible so that most all people in the deaf or hard of hearing community would have a sense of understanding of the message.
