One of my most cherished projects involves crafting print publications. l'm thrilled to showcase the 2022 Bank Iowa annual report—a labor of months. Collaborating with a skilled writer from our team, we captured the essence of Bank Iowa's values: being people-centered, bringing our best, enabling greatness, and thinking big.
I implemented a type-heavy system to refresh the look and feel from previous editions. The annual report serves as a powerful sales tool for our lenders and frontline staff assisting in new bank client acquisitions.
Meraki. Pronounced [may-rah-kee], is Greek for the essence of oneself that is infused into their work—a blend of soul, creativity, and love. When Nicole approached me to create the branding for her new hair salon, I was deeply honored. Having been her client since I was 12 years old, I understood her vision well. She sought a brand that was functional, simple, and modern. The timeless black and white logo and marks beautifully complement the accents of gold and concrete throughout Meraki.
I developed a comprehensive brand identity system that includes a website, business cards, apparel, and stationery sets. It has been incredibly rewarding to continue evolving the brand as new needs arise.
From June to December 2017, I designed the front and back covers, crafted stories, and created illustrations for Hy-Vee Seasons Magazine. Working closely with Hy-Vee, I successfully executed approved concepts and designs. Additionally, I art directed photoshoots and seamlessly integrated them into the final magazine layouts.
I created various illustrations for multiple issues of Life:Beautiful Magazine, where the client granted me extensive creative freedom to explore diverse illustration styles. Utilizing an iPad Pro and pencil, I experimented with various techniques and effects to enhance visual storytelling.
I played a key role in ideating, designing, art directing, and implementing the visual concepts for the Hy-Vee Mega Ad, a monthly promotional catalog showcasing all of Hy-Vee’s sale items. It was rewarding to contribute from the initial concept phase and see the ad evolve over time into a more intentional and cohesive theme.
From June to October 2017, I created illustrations and GIFs for the Hy-Vee Balance magazine. Hy-Vee specifically requested these GIFs for online promotions on their website and social media platforms.
Working for Hy-Vee taught me to produce diverse work under tight deadlines, emphasizing punchy visuals that resonate with their brand standards. These advertisements showcase my ability to adhere to Hy-Vee's preferred visual style while also exploring innovative approaches to organizing typography and photos.
The Iowa DOT selected my logo for an autonomous vehicle project. I designed it with a sideways power symbol as a "G" to emphasize technology while avoiding scientific connotations, aligning with the client's vision.
The mission for this campaign was to ensure the safety and well-being of both mothers and their little ones. I can understand that wearing a seatbelt with a growing baby bump can feel uncomfortable but is just as crucial during this stage. That's why I designed this brochure with a focus on mothers and their unique needs.
To make the message clear and relatable, I designed a seatbelt indicator feature in the shape of a pregnant mother. This visual reminder highlights the importance of seatbelt use in a way that resonates with their experience.
My work with MASH prepared me for the rapid pace of real-world design. I quickly adapted to the fast-paced design process curated by MASH. During my time freelancing, I successfully branded business cards, marketing proposals for UnityPoint Health, Omaha Country Club, and advertisements for McKinney Law.
